Residents of Hardin County who are eligible for the county’s Indigent Health Care Program now have the ability to choose TAN Healthcare as their primary care provider. According to The Texas Department of Health and Human Services, the County Indigent Health Care Program helps low-income Texas residents who don’t qualify for other state or federal health care programs have access to health care services. Benefits are limited to participating administrators who provide primary, preventative and some specialty services.

On the first Tuesday of the month, TAN Healthcare brings its Mobile Medical Clinic services to Batson, which is ideally situated in west Hardin County. The mobile clinic also opens for care on the first Wednesday in Raywood, which is in Liberty County, but in close proximity to west Hardin County residents.

“This will be the first time in a very long time that our clients have had a provider available in the western part of the county,” said Lynda Davis, Director of the Hardin County Indigent Health Care. “We are excited and appreciative that TAN Healthcare has chosen to become an indigent care provider.”

TAN Healthcare also accepts private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid. A sliding scale is available for those who are uninsured.

During the mobile clinics, appointments are available for the entire family’s health needs including preventive care, sick care, chronic disease management, and screenings. In addition, on-site lab testing is available during the visit, as well as counseling, patient navigation, and pharmacy services. Appointments can be made by calling 409-550-1067.

TAN Healthcare also provides screening services for HIV, Hepatitis C and STD (sexually transmitted disease) at Hardin County’s health department in Kountze twice monthly. These important outreach services are integral to TAN’s mission of serving the health needs of individuals and families in the area in a way that provides accessible, customer-focused primary care and preventive health services and in an environment of caring, respect, and dignity.
